O significado do nome “Bonde”, para nós, vem da gíria usada pela juventude periférica para designar um grupo de pessoas com afinidades. Os “bondes” são grupos de sociabilização em torno de um tema ou não. Quando se afirma “Esse é meu bonde” a frase traz consigo todo um sentimento de pertencimento, fundamental a qualquer ser humano e uma maneira do jovem periférico existir numa sociedade que o exclui de inúmeras formas. Entendemos que essa necessidade de pertencimento foi fundamental no desenvolvimento e manutenção das tradições negras em nosso país (Brasil). O projeto carrega a necessidade de criar um ambiente de pertencimento, por meio do encontro com a diversidade e o cruzamento de saberes como bases da metodologia utilizada: jogando com a tensão entre a "zoeira" carioca, em um modo marginal de ocupação do espaço público - que ginga e brinca com o perigo da suspeição - e a atenção policial; a violência da "porradaria"; o medo da "correria" e dos ritmos dissonantes dentro da coreografia urbana.

The meaning of the name “Bonde”, for us, comes from the slang used by the peripheral youth to designate a group of people with affinities. The “trams” are groups of socialization around a theme or not. When it says “This is my streetcar” the phrase brings with it a sense of belonging, fundamental to any human being and a way for the peripheral youth to exist in a society that excludes him in countless ways. We understand that this need for belonging was fundamental in the development and maintenance of black traditions in our country (Brazil). The project carries the need to create an environment of belonging, through the encounter with diversity and the crossing of knowledge as bases of the methodology used: playing with the tension between the carioca "zoeira", in a marginal way of occupying the public space - which swings and plays with the danger of suspicion - and the police attention; the violence of "porradaria"; the fear of "running" and dissonant rhythms within urban choreography.
